How can you reach Trongsa?

Nearest Airport- Paro International Airport and from there you will get several hired cars to reach your destination.

Nearest Railheads- There is no direct railway track to reach Bhutan. However, Hasimara Railway Junction and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station are the nearest ones. And then you can opt for taxi services in Bhutan to reach Trongsa via Phuentsholing.

Fascinating Trongsa Museum!!

Also known as Ta Dzong, as it is placed right above the Trongsa Dzong. Ta Dzong along with its watchtower is upgraded into a museum for the public. The tower has two temples dedicated to two legends i.e. Gesar of Ling and Meitreya.

The History behind Its Creation!!

Built-in 1652 by the first Governor of Trongsa, Ta Dzong will surely leave you enchanted by its harmonious architecture. Although it was made with only stone & wood, the structure of Ta Dzong is very strong.

 It’s Historical Significance!!

  • Previously this museum was built to guard the whole Trongsa district against internal conflicts since the last many centuries.
  • Now-a-days, every year, a meditation practice is held here for the welfare of the whole district.

The Magnificent Glory of Trongsa Museum!!

As you enter, you can explore-

  • There are 5 floors and 11 galleries which exhibits the charm of Bhutanese art, craft, and royal memorabilia.
  • Some of these are a 500-year-old jacket used by Ngagi Wangchuk, Raven crown, and Third king.
  • The biography of Guru Rinpoche.
  • There is a beautiful media room where tourists can watch documentaries on the Bhutan monarchy.

Note: You can buy several things from the souvenir shop which is inside the museum and sip a cup of coffee in the cafeteria.
